Ken Taylor   O W N E R   /   V O C A L   C O A C H

Ken is a native of Memphis, Tennessee. When he received a standing ovation at age 11 from 400 people

during his first singing performance, Ken was hooked on music. Since then, he has performed all over the

world singing various styles of music. His journeys have taken him from the west coast in LA and San

Francisco to the east coast in New York City. He traveled across the Atlantic to perform in Russia and over

the Pacific to perform on a cruise ship in the Hawaiian Islands. He has done everything from studio singing

to opera… from musical theatre to theme parks… He even once sang in a boy band. He is also a song writer,

and has performed his original music in various venues over the years.

During his high school years Ken performed in the school chorus and various ensemble groups where he

was frequently a featured soloist. He was selected to take part in the All-Southwest Honor Choir all four

years in high school and advanced each year to the All-State Honor choir as well. He has performed on

stage at the Orpheum and spent three summers as a professional entertainer singing and dancing at

Libertyland, where he was the youngest full time performer they had ever hired.

After high school, he auditioned with over 300 applicants and was awarded the prestigious Grace Moore

scholarship to attend the classical music program at the University of Tennessee. That full scholarship

provided him many additional opportunities to study, perform, and develop his vocal talents. He graduated

four years later with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance.

Ken learned in college methods that have been used for centuries to train the worlds greatest Operatic and

classical singers. After graduation, he spent over a year studying the teachers of the world’s best

contemporary artists and stars. After studying those techniques, he blended them with his personal

knowledge and experience to develop his own special style of teaching. Ken’s teaching style is calm,

deliberate and encouraging. He builds the confidence and self image of his students just as carefully as he

builds their vocal talent. Ken will tell you that he loves what he does and when you get the opportunity to

see him in action… it shows.

Ken worked with designers, sound engineers and contractors to create the most sophisticated studio that has

ever been built specifically for vocal training. Ken Taylor has incredible talent, incredible knowledge, and a

wonderful plan to teach the joy of singing to students of all ages…in Memphis and beyond!

"Ken's lessons are professional but playful, upbeat, and he's constructive with his critiques. He is a great person and loves his work. He's very passionate about it! He's great with young people and it

shows in his lessons and in the way he interacts with his students. He's also a very giving person and

we deeply appreciate all that he has done for us. We love you Ken!"

mother of Lindsey

(student since May 2006).

Renee Horvath   V O C A L   C O A C H

Mrs. Renee, a proud mother of three (Zack, Amanda, and Shelbi), has been has sharing her passion for

music with others most of her life.  When given the opportunity to sign with what would become CURB

Records, she declined knowing that it was in the best interests for her children.  However, Mrs. Renee’s

talents have attracted the attention of many others in the music business, leading to her being chosen to

star on “You Can Be a Star,” a singing competition that aired on national television in 1992.  (Unfortunately,

the show was cancelled before she got her turn to shine.)

Since then, Mrs. Renee has acquired 14 years of experience teaching voice and has experienced most of

what the Memphis area has to offer in the way of vocal competition.  In fact, her students have shined in

competitions such as the Mid-South Fair Competition, Star System, Loretta Lynn’s National Competition, and

many, many more!  Mrs. Renee also led the Show Choir at Rosemark Academy in earning an excellent

rating at the Disney World Festival the year that she was their director.

Disney World isn’t the only place Mrs. Renee travels.  She also periodically makes day trips traveling out of

state to teach voice to those involved in the pageant circuit (which by the way, she owns two pageant

systems: Toy Explosion National and Coach Connection Nationals).  So in addition to teaching voice, Mrs.

Renee also dedicates her time to helping shape pageant participants.

"…Everything I do revolves around children and I absolutely LOVE doing what I do!"

Mrs. Renee Horvath
